Plantation Program Empowers Students in Environmental Conservation at Kushtia
FAIR, a rights-based and development organization, has initiated a unique tree plantation program led by the Science Club in various secondary schools of Kushtia Sadar Upazila. To spread the message of environment conservation and greening, the main objective of this program started on August 21, 2024, is to increase environmental awareness among students and instill love for nature. Science club students are implementing this initiative with their own funds. They collect seedlings of different fruit, forest, and medicinal plant species and plant them on school premises.
The new light of environmental protection in the minds of students
Through this tree-planting program, the students planted trees and took responsibility for regularly maintaining the trees planted in the school premises. This inculcates a teamwork mentality in them, which will prepare them to participate in larger social and environmental initiatives in the future. By developing love and a sense of responsibility towards the environment, they are moving towards becoming responsible citizens in society.
