Science Fair at Alampur Girls School: Fostering Creativity and Leadership

A Science Fair at Alampur Girls School Fostering Creativity and Leadership organized by Jagdish Chandra Bose Science Club of Alampur Secondary Girls School was held on 03 September 2024 under the initiative of FAIR and with the support of Bangladesh Freedom Foundation. Various activities were organized at the fair to develop the creativity and scientific knowledge of the students, including a science project competition, science quiz, tree plantation, pie festival and wallpaper competition. The main objective of this fair was to increase science awareness among students, remove fear of science and create opportunities to develop leadership qualities.

Science Project Competition: Evidence of Innovative Skills

A total of 11 science projects were showcased at the science fair at Alampur Girls School, where students presented science-based projects through their innovative thinking. Akhi won first place in the competition, Attima Moni won the second place and Mayisha won the third place. Through these projects, students express their interest in science and their creativity.

Science Quiz Competition: A platform for expanding the boundaries of knowledge

87 students in two groups participated in the science quiz competition. In both Group A (6th to 8th) and Group B (9th and 10th), students express their depth of knowledge by answering various science questions.

In Group A, Jeba Raisa bagged first, Rimzhim Khatun second and Anamika Khatun third. In Group B, Samchunnahar Mili was first, Tasnim Tabassum was second, and Tabachsum Abiha Tama was third.

Wall magazine competition: A unique example of creative publishing

Students can showcase their teamwork skills and creativity in the wallpaper competition. A total of 20 wall panels are displayed, where scientific information and content are beautifully presented.

In Group A, Anamika bagged the first position, Nusrat bagged the second position, and Rhea bagged the third position. In Group B, Mitu was first, Tabasum was second, and Achia was third.

Plantation: An important initiative in environmental protection

The tree plantation program organized as part of the science fair at Alampur Girls School was one of the special activities through which environmental awareness and the importance of nature protection were highlighted among the students. The students participating in the fair planted saplings of various species of trees in the school premises, which will play an important role in protecting the environment in the future. Md. Azad Rahman, head teacher of the school said, “Planting trees is not only a means of protecting the environment, but it is a commitment to build a healthy and green world for our future generations.” Students will become environmentally conscious and motivated to lead an eco-friendly lifestyle through this program.

Closing and prize distribution

Science-based books are awarded as prizes to the winners of each competition at the Science Fair at Alampur Girls School, which will inspire them to pursue science. Project Officers of the Fair, Kaushik Ahmed Shaon and Robin Kumar thanked all concerned for the successful organization of the event.

It is believed that the initiative taken to increase students’ creativity, leadership qualities and interest in science through this science fair at Alampur Girls Schoo will open doors of new possibilities for them in the future.
