Summary:

To organize people from different professional to stand by the people affected by Covid-19 Pandemic in Kushtia, to provide emergency food and medical assistance and to take social initiatives to prevent Covid-19.

Challenge:

Like the rest of the world, millions of people are dying in Bangladesh due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to misconceptions, unawareness and lawlessness among the people, the virus is spreading rapidly from town to village. Bangladesh, like other countries, has been forced to close educational institutions, markets (emergency goods), transportation, etc. with long-term lockdowns in order to protect the public from Covid’s attack. As a result, thousands of people have lost their jobs and are living inhumane lives.

One of the challenges is to organize the people of different professional and provide emergency food and medical assistance to the people of all walks of life.

Solution:

To mobilize people from different professional to stand by people affected by Covid-19 by establishing a Social Volunteer Organization and to recruit Volunteers from among the youth. Providing emergency food support to the unemployed, providing medical assistance to the affected people, to make and distribute masks to protect against Covid’s infection free of cost, providing free disinfectant and soapy water to the public, distributing awareness leaflets and to run campaigns on social media, especially through Facebook. Providing training to rickshaw workers and providing hand spray machines, masks, disinfectants, soapy water at the end of training. And spraying disinfectant to disinfect public transport in Kushtia town.

Long-Term Impact:

A social organization consisting of different professionals will be created through which initiative will be taken to provide assistance to the people affected by Covid-19. Affected people will receive emergency food aid in times of crisis and their immunity will be enhanced. People will be aware and strong resistance will be formed against Covid-19. Moreover, the loss of life will be reduced.

কুষ্টিয়ায় কোভিড-১৯ দুর্যোগের কারণে ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ মানুষদের পাশে দাঁড়াতে সমাজের নানা শ্রেণী পেশার মানুষকে সংগঠিত করা এবং জরুরী খাদ্য ও চিকিৎসা সহায়তা প্রদানসহ এর প্রতিরোধে সামাজিক উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করা।

চ্যালেঞ্জ:

সারা বিশের মতো বাংলাদেশেও কোভিড-১৯ দুর্যোগের কারণে লক্ষ লক্ষ মানুষ আক্রান্ত হয়ে মৃত্যবরণ করছে। মানুষের মধ্যে এই ভাইরাস সম্পর্কে ভ্রান্ত ধারনা, অসচেতনতা এবং আইন না মানার প্রবণতার কারণে এর বিস্তার দ্রæত শহর থেকে গ্রাম পর্যন্ত ছড়িয়ে পড়ছে। কোভিড এর আক্রান্ত থেকে সর্বসাধারণকে রক্ষার্থে বিশে^র অন্যান্য দেশের মতো বাংলাদেশও বাধ্য হয়ে দীর্ঘমেয়াদী লকডাউন দিয়ে শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান, মার্কেট (জরুরী পণ্য), পরিবহণ  ইত্যাদি বন্ধ রেখেছে। ফলে এর প্রভাবে হাজার হাজার মানুষ কর্মহীন হয়ে মানবেতর জীবনযাপন করছে।

ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ মানুষদের পাশে দাঁড়াতে সমাজের নানা শ্রেণী পেশার মানুষকে সংগঠিত করে জরুরী খাদ্য ও চিকিৎসা সহায়তা প্রদানসহ সকল স্তুরের মানুষকে সচেতন করাই অন্যতম চ্যালেঞ্জ।

সমাধান:

কোভিট-১৯ এর কারণে ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ মানুষদের পাশে দাঁড়াতে সমাজের নানা শ্রেণি-পেশার ব্যক্তিকে সংঘবদ্ধ করে একটি স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সামাজিক সংগঠন সংগঠন তৈরি করা এবং যুবদের মধ্য থেকে স্বেচ্ছাসেবক নিয়োগ করা। কর্মহীন হওয়া মানুষদের জরুরী খাদ্য সহায়তা প্রদান করা, আক্রান্ত ব্যক্তিদের চিকিৎসা সহায়তা প্রদান, কোভিড এর আক্রান্ত থেকে সুরক্ষার জন্য মাস্ক তৈরি ও তা বিনামূল্যে বিতরণ, সর্বসাধারণের মাঝে বিনামূল্যে জীবাণুনাশক ও সাবানপানি প্রদান, সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধিতে লিফলেট বিতরণ এবং সোসাল মিডিয়ায় বিশেষ করে ফেইসবুকের মাধ্যমে প্রচারাভিযান চালোনো, রিক্সা শ্রমিকদের প্রশিক্ষণ প্রদান ও প্রশিক্ষণ শেষে হ্যান্ড স্প্রে মেশিন, মাস্ক, জীবাণুনাশক, সাবানপানি প্রদান করা। এবং কুষ্টিয়া শহরে চলাচলরত গণপরিবহণকে জীবাণুমুক্তকরণে জীবাণুনাশক স্প্রে করা।

দীর্ঘ মেয়াদী প্রভাব:

বিভিন্ন পেশাজীবীদের সমন্বয়ে একটি সামাজিক সংগঠন এর সৃষ্টি হবে যার মাধ্যমে কাভিট-১৯ এর কারণে ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ মানুষদের সহায়তা প্রদানে উদ্যোগ নেবে। ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ মানুষেরা সংকটকালীন জরুরী খাদ্য সহায়তা পাবে এবং তাদের রোগ প্রতিরোধ ক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধি পাবে। মানুষ সচেতন হবে এবং কোভিড এর বিরুদ্ধে শক্তিশালী প্রতিরোধ গড়ে উঠবে। সর্বপরি জীবন হানী কমবে।
