Celebrating International Women’s Day 2023
International Women’s Day 2023, is being celebrated all over the world, including Bangladesh with the theme of “Digital technology and innovation will end gender discrimination”. In continuation of that, on March 09, 2022, a discussion meeting was held on the occasion of International Women’s Day in the hall room of Shaheed Hasan Faiz Secondary Girls’ School organized by FAIR (a nonprofit organization) and Karujog (a craft based business organization).
Mr. Md. Zahurul Islam, head teacher of Shaheed Hasan Faiz Secondary Girls’ School, was present as the chief guest in the event presided over by Mrs. Shiria Khatun, a member of FAIR and senior teacher of the school. Mrs. Shammi Akhter, Science Teacher and Advisor of Archimedes Science Club of Shaheed Hasan Faiz Secondary Girls School was present as a special guest.
Dewan Akhtaruzzaman, director of FAIR, gave a welcome speech at the beginning of the program for International Women’s Day 2023. At this time, he highlighted the significance of Women’s Day along with the theme of this year’s Women’s Day. The chief guest of the meeting, Mr. Md. Zahurul Islam, said in his speech, “Women should be given the respect they deserve and the country and the nation should be improved together”.
In the closing speech of the meeting held, the president of the meeting, Mrs. Shiria Khatun, said, “If we want to build equality for women, we have to make demands and exercise our rights from our families. Men as well as women are playing an equal role in digital innovation. So we have to eliminate gender discrimination and restore equality.
